International Youth Scientific Conference "Greater Eurasian Partnership: Youth Dimension of Integration Projects"

On October 28, 2022, the International Youth Scientific Conference "Greater Eurasian Partnership: Youth Dimension of Integration Projects" was held at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. Tomsk State University (TSU, Tomsk), L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University. (ENU, Qazaqstan), the Expert Club "Siberia-Eurasia" (Novosibirsk) and the Expert and Analytical Center "Eurasian Horizon" (Tomsk) acted as partners who helped to organize the event.

In addition to students and staff of the Diplomatic Academy and co-organizers, the event was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps. One of the main guests was the Attaché for Education and Science of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Kyrgyz Republic, Robert Fedorov, and the First Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Qazaqstan in the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazybek Zhusipakhmetov.

At the conference, TSU students Kristina Koltun and Sofya Gauer presented the results of a study on the development of the youth dimension of integration in the EU and ASEAN. Their study group colleagues connected to the event online, complemented the presentations and helped answer the audience questions. Students from the Diplomatic Academy and ENU presented their vision of the youth dimension of such cooperation projects as the EEU, the CSTO, the SCO, the Organization of Turkic States, NATO, Mercosur.

The pool of conference experts included the head of the Department of International Relations and Law of the Kyrgyz Diplomatic Ainur Dzhorobekova, the head of the TSU Department of World Politics Sergey Yun, the head of the ENU Department of Regional Studies Aigerim Ospanova, associate professors of TSU Artyom Dankov, Sergey Miroshnikov and Anastasia Pogorelskaya.

This conference was the second event within the framework of the project "Greater Eurasian Partnership: View from East and West", implemented by the Expert Club "Siberia-Eurasia" in cooperation with TSU, Kyrgyz Diplomatic Academy, ENU and the Expert and Analytical Center "Eurasian Horizon", supported by the Presidential Grants Fund (Russia). The goal of the project is to organize high-quality support of integration processes on the Eurasian continent and to create an international knowledge network based on young people focused on studying the problems of the GEP.

The final event of the project, an international conference on the prospects for the development of the Greater Eurasian Partnership in the current conditions, will be held at Tomsk State University in the spring of 2023.
